Save a Street Child Foundation

Save a Street Child Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has been registered with Ghana’s Registrar General and Social Welfare Department under the Companies Act 1963 (Act 179) since December 2016. The foundation has a recognized branch in the United States of America (USA).

The objective of the Foundation is to curb the menace of streetism in Ghana and beyond. It is re-uniting street children with their families and ensuring that they are enrolled in school or learn a vocation. The foundation also engages these children in personal development modules for them to identify and harness their potentials to the optimum.

Our Mission

To give hope, love and care to vulnerable street children so they can become responsible adults in future. It seeks to advocate for children who have no parental care and support to get adopted or foster parents who can help them to realize their goals in life.  Through the love and care of these foster families, the vulnerable children can get the needed support to further their education or learn a vocation.

Our Vision

The Foundation aims to become one of the best foundations in our part of the world that supports and encourages homeless children to get a good education and skills.

Long-term Plan

To put an end to the street children phenomenon in Ghana where children will be in classrooms instead of the streets.

Why Save a Street Child Foundation?

Streetism is a social canker that can explode and make any country ungovernable if it is not curbed. This is because when children are left on the streets, they learn certain behaviors and attitudes such as armed robbery, prostitution, among others that pose a threat to society.

Children are supposed to be protected, loved, supported to be able to get meaningful lives but when this fails, their lives become terrible.
